I have always imagined that the culmination of my "dream life" would be a home with open doors - meant for sharing. Opening up my doors to loved ones and serving friends well has been the overriding theme as I have begun to decorate and settle into my new place. I have always loved finding flea market treasures and patiently hunting to find the perfect pieces but this has been such a sweet and enjoyable process with "open doors" in mind.
My friend Don Miller wrote a blog post the other day about giving your home and stuff meaning that summed up this concept more eloquently than I ever could.
"What if we managed our homes like little meeting places God used to bring people together?"
With that in mind, I have embarked on this journey to create a home. I finally have the space to entertain, to host and to have guests stay. One of my first priorities was creating a plush and welcoming guest room. My friends over at White's Mercantile here in Nashville helped me find the perfect little things to put in the guest room "welcome basket." Most of these items can be found at White's Mercantile but there are also links to purchase online below!
